Tue, 9 February 2010 We are in week 6! Once again we've got 3 intervals. The first starts with a 5 minute walking warm-up followed by a 5 minute jog, 3 minute walk, 8 minute jog, 3 minute walk and ending with a 5 minute run (and obviously you've got your cool down afterwards to do what you like).
Music this week comes from RCRDLBL.com and BetterPropoganda.com

Thu, 4 February 2010 Wow, week 5 interval 3 is no joke. We're running for a full 20 minutes today. Now, before you go for a box of tissues to wipe away your tears, please keep in mind that you do not need to sprint this or even go as fast as maybe you have on some of your other interval runs. If you're jogging at a 3.0 pace, that's ok - just keep picking up your feet. All you can ask of yourself is to give it your all.
Our music for this run is pretty great (in my humble opinion). It comes courtesy of RCRDLBL, Dance Yourself to Death and Groove Armada. The Heavy - How You Like Me Now Hot Chip - Take It In Dance Yourself to Death - Midnight Affair (Y&R Remix) Steve Aoki - Green Velvet - Shake and Pop featuring Kid Sister Groove Armada - I Won't Kneel (Treasure Fingers Epicwave Radio Edit) Hexes & Ohs - Whadaya Know

Mon, 24 August 2009 Hell yeah we've made it to the 45 minute mark! 15 more minutes and we'll be running for an hour. While that makes me a little nauseous to think about, it also makes me excited - like a superhero. I accidentally give the wrong web address for Hood Internet. Please go to http://thehoodinternet.com/ to grab HOT mash-ups. Comments[13] |
Mon, 10 August 2009 We've made it to the 40 minute run! Not gonna lie, the 35 minute run was a bit rough for me last week but I'm ready to bring it this week! You'll be able to follow my blog and find more podcasts at HealthKey.com Don't forget you can always drop me a note at thatssochubby@gmail.com Comments[16] |
Mon, 3 August 2009 We're going for a full 35 minutes of running today so get those legs stretched and let's get moving. Also, I give you a helpful note (read: warning) about adding me as a friend on Facebook and read a an email sent in by one of your fellow runners. Tue, 28 July 2009 We're up to 30 minutes of running, are you psyched? You should be, I've got some great music for you this time around and the audio issues from the last episode are pretty much gone. Woo hoo! For more info, check me out on http://healthkey.com/fitness Comments[12] |
Mon, 27 July 2009 I'm starting a 10k training podcast to follow Hal Higdon's 10k training program. The workouts for this one aren't as clear cut as the 5k training since there aren't intervals with running and walking - but hopefully we'll get through this together anyway. First up is the 2.5 mile run which I'm equating to 25 minutes of running. We'll be doing a 5 minute warm-up and a 5 minute cool down. For more information on this podcast please visit healthkey.com/fitness Comments[11] |
Tue, 24 March 2009 ![]() Wowsers, we've made it all the way to our last week - week 9 - together! I am so proud of you, you've done an amazing job getting here. Think back to week one when you stepped up on the treadmill and had to go for a minute or so without stopping. If you're anything like me, you can't even believe how far you've come. I wanted to get this out without too much delay so the music is mostly the same:
Ida Corr vs. Fedde le Grand: Let Me Think About It Jamin Wilcox: Heart Attack Every Move a Picture: Signs of Life location location: Starpusher Tracy Young, Thaea - Sexual Matthew Dear: Don and Sherri Die Die Die : Blue Skies Hood Internet: Flo Rida vs. Hot Chip Hood Internet: Juvenile vs. Portishead Hood Internet: Rick Ross vs. Hercules and Love Affair Hood Internet: Twista vs. Office Killola: Cracks in the Armor Comments[10] |
Fri, 13 March 2009 Holy crap we've made it to week 8. Some of you have powered through week by week, others of you have powered through but have had to go back a few weeks or try a few times. Either way, you're HERE and that is amazing. Work has had me very busy lately and there hasn't been a ton of great *FREE* music for me to use but I did find a good mix of new and old to get through week 8. Comments[8] |
Mon, 23 February 2009 We're already on week 7! My time flies when you're having fun. Week 7 has the same intervals (well, there really isn't an interval) for all three days of running so you'll only see one podcast for this week. We're doing 5 minutes of walking as a warmup and then 25 big minutes of jogging/running/sweating together. Get pumped! Comments[10] |
Tue, 3 February 2009 Oh hells to the yeah, we're on the third cycle of week 6 - which, I'm not gonna lie - was hard for me. I just ran it and maybe it's just an off day for me but 25 minutes of straight running just wasn't all that simple. Either way, I got through it and I know you can too.
We're doing a 5 minute walking warmup followed by 25 minutes of running and then your cool down. I switched the music up a little to get us through all the running, I hope you like it! Comments[9] |
Fri, 30 January 2009 It's been a busy week and I did pretty well with my eating - not so well with my working out. Either way as soon as I upload this podcast I'm gonna be running it with you. We're going 5 minutes of walking, 10 running, 3 walking, 10 running and then cooling down for 5 or however long you need. Comments[5] |

Tue, 20 January 2009 What a spectacular day - the inauguration of our new President, Barack Obama. It is rare for me to be patriotic, but the night of the election and all day today has been quite a whirlwind of incredible emotions. Since I am an emotional eater (even when it's for happy things) my feelings tasted like a Potbelly's vegetarian sub with no cheese, add hot peppers. I had to come to work early and stay late so I haven't been able to hit the gym. It looks like tomorrow will have to be day one of week 6, hopefully I'll be able to find some good tunes before then. Wed, 7 January 2009 The couch to 5k program that I follow is from an awesome website called Cool Running and the next few weeks of training has different intervals for each training session. So here is the second of three week 5 podcasts as promised. We're doing a 5 minute walking warm-up, 8 minutes jogging, 5 minutes brisk walking, 8 minutes of jogging (which always makes me feel like I'm going to poop my pants) and then the cool down for another 5 minutes of walking or more. Mon, 5 January 2009 Wow, I'm back after a long time of being out. Forgive me, I was sick. Also, the choices of music for me to use weren't up to par with what I would want to give to you fine folks who are forcing yourselves to go through the hell that is running (myself included). This week's program is a weird one which will be done in three parts but with the same music each time because, I don't have time to look for more and because it makes my booty shake. You'll listen to it three times and then you're done with it if you don't like it, so there.
The artists included are (in order)
My Dear Disco - White Lies
Mink Records - 7 Days
Deastro Keepers - The Shaded Forests
School of Seven Bells - Chain
Happy Anarchy - Personal Judas
Barcelona - It's About TimeComments[3] |
Fri, 19 September 2008 Sorry it's taken me so long to put this together! I've been sick and busy in general...I know that's not a great excuse but...oh well. Keep up the great work! Comments[8] |

Tue, 12 August 2008 This time we're going for intervals of 90 seconds of running and 2 minutes of brisk walking. It's not as easy as it sounds. Comments[4] |
