Ready for week 2? Sure you are! This week we're doing five minutes of walking for your warm-up, then intervals of 90 seconds running and 2 minutes walking. Make sure you keep your walking at a brisk pace. Try to challenge yourself. If you end up needing to slow it down, there's no shame in that.
Your music for this week is brought to you by:
Thao with The Get Down Stay Down - Bag of Hammers
Gossip - Sweet Baby
DJ Timbo - Hit This Tiger Wood (Just Do It)
Wolfgang Gartner - Wolfgang's 5th Symphony (remix)
Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone
The Tough Alliance - A New Chance (Juan Maclean Remix)
Ke$ha - Your Love Is My Drug
Uffie - Pop The Clock (Felix Da Housecat's Pink Enemy Remix)
The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name (LA Riots Remix)

It's been a while and I need to get back into the swing of things so I figured we could all use some new music and new motivation. You can use these podcasts for the CoolRunnings Couch to 5k program, or use them for interval training. Feel free to email me at thatssochubby (at) gmail (dot) com if you have questions or need a little extra encouragement.
Week 1 has us going for a 5 minute walking warm up and then intervals of 60 seconds running and 90 seconds of walking. The music used includes:
The Midnight Juggernauts - This New Technology
Moneypenny - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Kid Sister - Get Fresh
Amanda Blank - DJ
Spinnerette - Sex Bomb
Plaisir de France - Le Responsable Revisite
Almost all of these can be found and downloaded at <a target="_blank"href="http://rcrdlbl.com/">RCRDLBL</a>

Hell yeah we've made it to the 45 minute mark! 15 more minutes and we'll be running for an hour. While that makes me a little nauseous to think about, it also makes me excited - like a superhero. I accidentally give the wrong web address for Hood Internet. Please go to http://thehoodinternet.com/ to grab HOT mash-ups.

Also, I give you a helpful note (read: warning) about adding me as a friend on Facebook and read a an email sent in by one of your fellow runners. I'm starting a 10k training podcast to follow Hal Higdon's 10k training program. The workouts for this one aren't as clear cut as the 5k training since there aren't intervals with running and walking - but hopefully we'll get through this together anyway. First up is the 2.5 mile run which I'm equating to 25 minutes of running. We'll be doing a 5 minute warm-up and a 5 minute cool down. Wowsers, we've made it all the way to our last week - week 9 - together! I am so proud of you, you've done an amazing job getting here. Think back to week one when you stepped up on the treadmill and had to go for a minute or so without stopping. If you're anything like me, you can't even believe how far you've come.
I wanted to get this out without too much delay so the music is mostly the same:
Ida Corr vs. Fedde le Grand: Let Me Think About It
Jamin Wilcox: Heart Attack
Every Move a Picture: Signs of Life
location location: Starpusher
Tracy Young, Thaea - Sexual
Matthew Dear: Don and Sherri
Die Die Die : Blue Skies
Hood Internet: Flo Rida vs. Hot Chip
Hood Internet: Juvenile vs. Portishead
Hood Internet: Rick Ross vs. Hercules and Love Affair
Hood Internet: Twista vs. Office
Killola: Cracks in the Armor

Holy crap we've made it to week 8. Some of you have powered through week by week, others of you have powered through but have had to go back a few weeks or try a few times. Either way, you're HERE and that is amazing.
Work has had me very busy lately and there hasn't been a ton of great *FREE* music for me to use but I did find a good mix of new and old to get through week 8.
